Mundford FC Under 16s have teamed up with chartered accountants and financial planners Lovewell Blake for the new season, with the firm supporting the expenses of running the team, including the new kit.
The team, which plays in the Norfolk Combined Youth Football League, kicked off their first match of the season with a very hard fought win against Thetford Town FC.
The young footballers are coached by Jamie Norton, who is partner at Lovewell Blake’s Thetford office.
“We are a firm which just loves to get involved in our local communities,” said Mr Norton. “I really enjoy supporting the lads in their footballing ambitions, and it’s great that Lovewell Blake have backed that up with sponsorship to help the team fulfil their programme of matches this season.
“I’ve been coaching this team since they were five years old and getting them onto the football pitch teaches them teamwork and social skills, as well as helping them keep fit – and it gets them away from the computer for a couple of hours!’’
